English for Nurses

The English for Nurses program was developed to prepare internationally educated nurses to pass the Canadian English Language Benchmark Assessment for Nurses (CELBAN) as well as to help them improve their use of English in their daily lives. 

Since its inception, nurses from the Philippines, Africa and Easter Europe have benefited from the program, including one-on-one coaching, training materials and exam preparation.  The program has an excellent track record of nurses passing the CELBAN exam.

Duolingo English Test

Minimum score: 85

The Duolingo English Test is an online English proficiency test that can be taken online, on-demand, in under an hour. The test is taken via a computer with a camera and includes a proficiency score, video interview, and writing sample which are shared with Vocational Pathways Association of Edmonton when you send your results. Certified results are available within 48 hours of the test session.
